A sailboat! And some questions and photos

Some months ago, I mentioned to one of my friends that I was not sure how much longer my marriage would last, she asked me what I planned to do next. I wasn’t sure, I do not have a traditional job tying me to any specific location, I do not have children or other strong family ties, there were no obvious next steps. “I think I’m going to buy a sailboat and live on it.”

Currently, I am driving across the country to attend the survey— boat inspection— for a 42 foot sailing catamaran that, if all goes well, I will purchase and live on for at least the next several months. If this seems insane to you, you’re in good company.
