I got married five years ago today. 

My ex and I used to talk about throwing a large party for our thirtieth or fiftieth anniversary celebration. We spoke about how nice it would feel. Sitting together, surrounded by friends and family, proud that we had managed so much life together, that we had put each other first for so many years. We were going to serve Dom Perignon out of magnums and caviar the traditional way. Cocktail attire, about seventy-five people. New Year’s Eve. We celebrated three wedding anniversaries. Our divorce was final before the fourth.
