Since I was 16, my personal Sad Times Song has been “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by Fergie. ‘Clarity beats serenity’. My favorite line. Poetry! I repeat it in my head even when I am not listening to the song; a motto for times when I need to face things rather than smile through them, a reminder to investigate; to strive for understanding rather to exists blissfully but stupidly. Yesterday, I found out that the lyric is ‘clarity, peace, serenity’. My mistake.
