When it became clear that I was going to get divorced or at least go through some sort of an extended separation, I started talking to some of my old (male) friends from high school and college. Some of them reached out to me and I reached out to some of them.
All of my male friends made in adulthood are or were friends with my ex. I wanted “the male perspective” on some issues and it felt disrespectful to disclose specific issues to men who are also friends with my ex-husband. So I asked my old mates. Universally, the response was… the same.
