Love this so much. Love isn’t enough and I’m proud of you for seeing the big red flag of someone calling it “love” when in reality he couldn’t have known you enough to love you. He loved the idea of you! So many of us get caught in that (I did, hence my divorce). I think friends ARE the family we create too! And I’ll echo what your friend said — there’s too many wonderful things about you for you to ever settle for just “enough.”
