Hannah, I'm rooting for you—not that you need it. Keep taking care of yourself!

Thank you so so much, Britta!! And I certainly need all the help I can get. ;)

I will work on being more consistent and posting more book recs but there is a highlight on my instagram and I'll link below a Moxie post where I did a "currently reading" sort of thing which is a mixture of recs and... less recommended options

Wow, Hannah! I commend you for your vulnerability here and completely feel you on your body betraying you in times of stress and change. If I travel for a few days, my digestive system is messed up for a week so I can’t imagine what a couple months can do. Love to see it when someone recognizes they need a change and makes an effort to better the way they’re feeling. Always always love reading your essays and so sorry about the panty thief- that is horrific and must have felt so violating.

Thank you Kirbi!! It is horrific and violating but I am okay!! And yes, oh goodness I have so many digestive issues when I travel and now, I didn't even mention them because the skin stuff is the most uncomfortable. It's been wild but we've got this. Thank you, my sister in christ, for your comment!

I’ve been there! When it rains it pours but you’ve made yourself a solid umbrella ☔️ also for the jawline acne, that happened to me too and I realized it was due to milk & low quality cheese. Not sure if that’s your experience but once I cut it out my skin cleared right up. You got this 👊

Thank you Anna! I love the umbrella metaphor! I read online that it’s often hormonal so I *hope* it’s due to stress because I love dairy but if it doesn’t clear up soon I’ll cut that out for a while and see if it helps! Thank you for the suggestions!!

Good luck! We have started sailing and find it so peaceful, fun and adventurous. We took lessons. It’s a new world and being removed from the world while sailing is truly amazing.

I hope you start feeling better soon, Hannah! If you haven’t already tried it, La Roche-Posay Cicaplast would probably help the zits and dermatographia. It helps me with painful zits and itchy skin!

I also hope you stay safe, I can only imagine how violated and scared you must feel. I hope whoever it is gets caught soon

My goodness, sister in Christ, you’ve been through a lot. So many intense emotions, huge changes, and the intruder in your home is particularly scary. It can be so hard to put the work into taking care of yourself and figure out what’s effective when the world is spinning around you and you’re rad for not only doing it but sharing your candor about the process. The last few months of my life have seemed like a gauntlet from hell and I was rather rudely alerted to the fact this week that my body has definitely been keeping score. Time to recalibrate. As much as life has put me through the ringer lately, your writing and videos remain consistent points of joy, so thank you for that. <3

Try adding stinging nettle tea to your self care routine. It really helps with the histamine response. Be safe!

love this. i know you don't want to focus on drinking, but as someone who quit a few years ago (also not an alcoholic) i found it to be so much easier with all of the NA bevs out there. athletic brewing beer, gruvi Prosecco, Noughty red wine. best of luck xx

Thank you for your comment! And that totally makes sense, one of my best friends (mostly) stopped drinking about a year ago and she says the same! I'm stalked up on Spindrift and Diet Coke for the time being but I'm going to keep an eye out for NA wine at the grocery store! I might also have a tonic and lime juice or two

hmm thrillers: Anything by Tana French or Ruth Ware is great! I also love Fiona Barton. Lucy Foley is decent and her books are easy to read, The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris was fun, loved loved loved My Sister the Serial Killer... and any Gillian Flynn if you haven't already read?

Non thrillers: Have you ever read Dolly Alderton? "Ghosts" is SOO good. Same with "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin.

Unsolicited advice....take time off from social networking. Just a day or two a week. Chances are the time off will get your creativity to flowing . The people who follow you will understand and just be happy when you are there.
